Caring for Your Garden while Travelling

The excitement of embarking on long trips, holidays or vacations can often make people forget about their gardens at home. More often than not, plants usually get wilted and dried upon their owner’s return. However, this can readily be avoided of course. Prior to a long vacation, always make sure to get all the potted plants away from direct sunlight. Science tells us that the sun’s direct heat could easily hasten leaf weathering and cause the moisture in the soil to evaporate much faster. It is also important to water all plants ahead before leaving so that they can have enough stored moisture during days when they cannot be tended. Of course, asking a friendly neighbour to keep an eye on your garden is also helpful.
